Located in Seattle’s Queen Anne neighborhood, Wag N’ Wash Natural Food & Bakery is the premier retail destination for people who treat their companion pets as family members. Our guests can Wash ‘em, Feed ‘em and Spoil’ ‘em all in One Cool Place!

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, mentor and encourage team to help contribute to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats while maintaining a clear vision of Wag N’ Wash values
  • Proactively work with Store Owner to effectively streamline processes into critical components
  • Assist in all aspects of inventory such as merchandise replenishment and placement (merchandising), inventory adjustments, audits and order processing
  • Lead, train and hold the staff accountable to maintain the cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of the store
  • Cultivate strong relationships with co-workers to help them build their career within Wag N’ Wash
  • Well-organized, detail oriented, flexible to change, strategic thinker
  • Ensure the safety and security of guests and their companion animals while in our store by ensuring all city health codes are being met
  • Work with Store Manager to effectively streamline processes into critical components
  • Drive in store events utilizing local rescue, veterinary and health clinics.
  • Keep abreast of industry updates/changes and develop team members accordingly
  • Responsible for additional duties assigned by Store Owner

Successful applicants for an Assistant Manager position MUST meet the following criteria

  • 3 years previous retail experience, with at least one year in a retail supervisory/management role required
  • Previous pet retail experience required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office required
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to cultivate new and existing relationships with guests, vendors and employees
  • Must be able to be responsible for several varied activities at one time
  • Must be able to work varied hours/shifts including evenings, weekends and some holidays
  • Must be able to move or lift merchandise, equipment or pets weighing 50lbs.
